Charlotte–Monroe Executive Airport, previously known as Monroe Regional Airport, is available to the public located approximately 5 miles northwest of Monroe, NC. The airport is owned by the City of Monroe and designated as a backup for Charlotte’s main airport, Charlotte Douglas International airport.
The airport has one asphalt runway which measures 7,000 feet by 100 feet and sits at an altitude of 679 feet above mean sea level.
Charlotte–Monroe Executive Airport has the facilities to handle jet aircraft, single and multi-engine aircraft and helicopters.
The latest upgrades being considered is $270,000 in state funds for the design and bidding phase of apron rehabilitation at Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport.
Usually in early November, the airport is host to the Warbirds Over Monroe Air Show. The air show features planes from Pearl Harbor and the D-Day invasion to the European Occupation and into Vietnam, you will witness history in the air and on the ground. The goal of our performers is to create an experience in which you can learn about the sacrifices made by our Veterans and the planes that flew during those time periods.
